In 2013-2014 we served on the Kentucky FFA State Officer team with Brian Chism during which time the statewide association grew to over 14,000 plus members. We worked together as a team to help grow membership, build alliances with elected officials and serve as role models to members. Brian's leadership ability helped to bring our team together ensuring that we were successful in our endeavors.
We were all full-time college students at the time of our service attending different universities across the Commonwealth. We crossed the state working directly with students to build their leadership skills and become better community members. As a team we did so with the FFA mission statement of “making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education” in our mind.
Every task we did as a team was done with the members in mind. Brian always reminded us that what we did, it was never about us as individuals but instead what was best for the members. In every meeting we had as a team, meeting with supporters, public events or conversations with elected officials he reminded us to keep this in mind. His approach was to bring everyone to the table, to listen to all the ideas, and come together to create plans and solutions.
We have seen first hand the exceptional leadership style that Brian Chism possesses. We know that this will be the same approach he takes as your State Representative. He will bring people to the table, listen, and do what's best for the voters of his district. Even when the decisions are hard to make he will keep a level head and remember to do what's best for the people he represents.
Brian Chism is a leader and is committed to working for you the voters. He would be honored to have your vote in the upcoming primary election.
